Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions set out how FishmanX provides guided fishing trips, coaching and related services. By making a booking or enquiry, you agree to these terms.

1. Bookings & payment

• A booking is considered "provisional" until it is confirmed by us in writing (usually by email or message).
• We may request a deposit to secure your date. The required amount and payment method will be clearly communicated.
• The remaining balance (if any) is typically due on or before the trip date, as agreed in advance.
• If payment is not received within the agreed timeframe, we reserve the right to cancel or re-allocate the booking.

2. Cancellations & changes

We understand that plans change and that Irish weather can be unpredictable. Our goal is always to be fair and reasonable:

• If you need to cancel, please let us know as early as possible so we can try to rearrange or free the date for someone else.
• Where a deposit has been paid, we may offer to transfer it to a new date if rescheduled with reasonable notice.
• In case of extreme weather, unsafe conditions or unforeseen circumstances, we may need to postpone or move the session to another location or date. Your safety will always come first.
• If we have to cancel a trip and no suitable alternative can be arranged, we will refund any amount you have paid for that session.

3. Safety on the water

Fishing involves natural environments, water, hooks and variable weather conditions. We take safety seriously and expect all participants to do the same:

• You agree to follow the guide's instructions at all times, especially regarding casting, landing fish, moving on banks or ice, and using equipment.
• You are responsible for wearing suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor conditions (we can advise what to bring).
• If you have any medical conditions, physical limitations or concerns, you must inform us in advance so we can plan the session appropriately.
• We reserve the right to stop or modify a session if we believe safety is at risk, including but not limited to weather, water levels, ice conditions or participant behaviour.

4. Licences & regulations

• Some waters in Ireland require permits or licences. We will inform you where this is the case and what is required.
• You are responsible for complying with local angling rules and regulations, including catch limits and protected species.
• We promote responsible, sustainable fishing and may practise catch-and-release for certain species or venues.

5. Your responsibilities

• Treat equipment, the environment and other anglers with respect.
• Ensure any minors (children) are supervised by a parent or guardian at all times during the trip.
• Avoid excessive alcohol or any substance that may impair judgement or safety.
• Inform us immediately of any incidents, injuries or damage during the session.

6. Liability

We will always do our best to provide a safe and enjoyable experience. However:

• You participate in fishing activities at your own risk and must take reasonable care for your own safety.
• We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings brought to the session (for example, phones, cameras, clothing).
• Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where such limitation or exclusion is not permitted by law (for example in the case of gross negligence or injury caused directly by our actions).

7. Photography & media

• Sometimes we may take photos or short clips during sessions for memories, social media or website galleries.
• We will always respect your wishes. If you do not want to be photographed or featured online, simply let us know and we will not use any identifiable images of you.

8. Data protection

We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy. In short, we only collect the data we need to respond to you, plan trips and keep basic records.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, pricing or legal requirements. The most recent version will always be available on this page.
