Signature Trips & Experiences
Winter Ice & Cold-Season Session

A relaxed on-shore day that covers the basics: rigging up, safe casting, bite detection, playing a fish, and handling it with care. Perfect for absolute beginners, families, or anyone who wants to build a solid foundation with a patient guide by their side.
Coastal & Sea-Shore Session
Learn how to fish from rocks, beaches, and piers—reading the swell, understanding tides, and picking safe, productive marks. Ideal for anglers who want to explore Ireland’s dramatic coastline with an experienced local guide.
Gear Tune-Up & Tactics Clinic
Bring your own setups or use mine as we go through knots, rigs, lure choices, and seasonal tactics. Ideal for anglers who already fish but want to squeeze more performance out of their gear and time on the water.

Client Reviews
Mark (FishmanX) is an outstanding guide with a calm, patient teaching style. He explains every step from tying knots to landing fish, and you always feel safe, supported, and relaxed on the water.
FishmanX combines deep local knowledge with a clear, friendly way of explaining things. Our team event was fun, well organised, and everyone—from total beginners to experienced anglers—learned something new.
Mark has a great way of making complex tactics feel simple. He doesn’t just show you what to do—he explains why it works, so you leave with skills you can use on your own trips.
As a parent, I really appreciated how focused Mark was on safety and fun during our kids’ session. The children were completely engaged and still talk about “their” fish weeks later.
The winter pike session with FishmanX completely changed how I fish in cold conditions. Smart tactics, great tips on clothing, and a brilliant atmosphere from start to finish.
Our company offsite with FishmanX was a hit. Mark kept things relaxed, gave everyone plenty of attention, and somehow managed to help nearly all of us land a fish.
I booked a one-to-one session to tidy up my casting and lure presentation. Mark’s feedback was clear and encouraging, and I’ve been catching far more since.
The family day was brilliant. Mark kept the kids engaged, taught them the basics, and made sure we all had chances to catch. We’ll definitely book again.
FAQ
What information do you need before a booking?
To plan your session, I’ll ask about your experience level, preferred dates, location (lake, river, or coast), group size, target species, and whether you need gear provided. From there, I’ll recommend the best option and outline a simple plan for the day.
Do you provide fishing gear, or should I bring my own?
I can fully kit you out with rods, reels, end tackle, and lures for all sessions. If you already own gear, you’re very welcome to bring it—we can even spend time tuning and improving your setups during the trip. You’ll just need to bring suitable clothing and footwear for Irish weather.
Is this suitable for complete beginners and kids?
Absolutely. Many of my trips are designed specifically for first-timers and young anglers. We go at your pace, keep the setups simple, and focus on building confidence while staying safe and having fun.
What happens if the weather or sea conditions are bad?
Safety always comes first. If strong winds, heavy rain, or rough sea conditions make a session unsafe or unpleasant, we’ll either move to a more sheltered venue or reschedule to another suitable date. I’ll stay in close contact in the days before your trip.
How do we get started?
Simply drop me a message via the contact page or email, letting me know what kind of experience you’re looking for. I’ll suggest dates, confirm pricing, and once we agree a plan and small deposit, your session is booked. You’ll also receive a short checklist to help you prepare.
